June 27th – After scoring yet another goal
The big talking point this season was ‘Would Liverpool had won the Premier League had Luis Suarez not missed the first eight matches of his incredible season?’
I am not sure, but I do know one thing it triggered something inside him, with the aid of his Advisors, to not only take the English game by storm but make his case for ‘wanting away’ much stronger in the eyes of both the Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona. Apart from PSG they are the only two football clubs on the Planet who could afford this weird but wonderful talent.
It was on the Sunday 21 April that he decided to take the law between his teeth and bite Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic in a home match against their fierce London rivals. However, the ten match ban only fired him up to take his wonderful talent onto another level.
I have been saying for a very long time that Luis Suarez behaviour by extraordinarily biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic in a match at Anfield, which earned him that ban was all about getting that move to one of the Spanish giants Real Madrid or Barcelona, preferably the latter.
This has not only turned the World Cup into turmoil in many ways, as he turned up after an amazing trunaround of events regarding his operation and shattered England’s World Cup hopes with two two strikes this time with his gead and his right foot, and he did it in style. However, the Uruguayan icon and hero has now shatterdd his own nation’s dream in the meantime.
I was sitting in a pub in Gilligham with my pal Mossy when this occured and we both took it quite casually as we could not see the ‘Big Picture’ in such a pub and all of these events never came about until we reached home. We were there to talk about the England match that he alone (Suarez) had turned into a different kind of circus.
The World Cup has now seen several incredible twists with the holders Spain getting knocked out at the Group stages and England the same, and in doing so making history in our game by becoming the first team to be knocked out after only two matches.
My big question is ‘How would this country have reacted had Wayne Rooney had scored those two goals against Uruguay and bitten a Costa Rica in the following match?’
This is not a pun, but it is ‘food for thought’!
The next step is going to be a massive one as both these incidents have been overlooked by the officials, by not showing the player a red card on either occasion, when the whole world could see both incidents clearly.
Will those official be brought in front of any committee?
