Description

Mike Summerbee was an integral part of the great Manchester City side of the late 1960’s and early 70’s, put together by Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison, which won the 1968 League Division One Title, the 1969 F.A. Cup and the 1970 European Cup Winners Cup. Mike also gained eight England Caps during this period, playing alongside his friends and club colleagues, Francis (Franny) Lee and Colin Bell.

Mike is a little less well known for playing alongside Pele, Sylvester Stallone and Michael Caine, amongst other famous names, in the cult action film ‘Escape to Victory’, a fact he dines on to this day!

When asked about his involvement with Greatest Card Ltd, Mike replied “The working man has always been the backbone of football and always will be. Without the fans there would be no game, and it is a sincere pleasure to be able to connect with the true supporters of the game on a personal level. If the Cards put a smile on the face of football fans, past and present, it will certainly put a smile on mine”.
